Q: What is Glutathione (GSH) and why is it important?
A: GSH is a small tripeptide molecule composed of three amino acids – Glutamic Acid, Glycine, and Cysteine. All three amino acids must be present for the cell to produce GSH. Cysteine is the most difficult for humans to acquire and requires the presence of other amino acids to be effective.
Intracellular Glutathione levels appear to be an indicator of the cell’s general health and ability to resist and defend against toxins, with the largest concentration of glutathione in the liver.
GSH is used by your body to continuously defend against free radical damage, infection, radiation damage and environmental exposure.
The two major protective functions of GSH are to provide antioxidant protection within the cell, especially in the nucleus where RNA and DNA must be protected, and to act as a protectant from toxic materials, especially in the liver and lungs.
Q: If GSH is a naturally-occuring antioxidant, why does the body need additional support for production?
A: Levels of GSH in cells can be diminished for a variety of reasons – stress, microbial attack, cellular change, cellular degenerative change, traumatic change, exercise change, age, and lack of nutritional support. The GSH “pool” is not infinite and must be replenished or maintained to retain optimal health benefits.
Q: Can a person who is lactose intolerant take Triotein® and who should not take it?
A: Yes. The production process of Triotein® has already wiped off the lactose through dialytic method, so people with lactose intolerant can take Triotein®. However, people with an allergy to milk protein, which is rare, may not be applicable. Also, anyone who has had an organ transplant and is receiving immunosuppressant therapy should not take the product. People with liver and kidney illness should also take good care of their daily protein intake.
Q: What is the best way to mix Triotein® ?
A: Use any kind of juice, water or liquid that is no warmer than lukewarm. Mix the product with the liquid in some kind of a small container with a lid so that you can shake it. Then leave at room temperature for 15 minutes and shake it again...now it's ready to drink. It can also be mixed in applesauce, yogurt or sprinkled over cereal.
Please PREVENT the heat caused by mixing, DO NOT place in any liquid that is above lukewarm temperature. This kills the bio-activity of the product. DO NOT let it remain mixed over one hour before drinking.
Q: Is there other recommended usage for Triotein® ?
A: To bring the best result, you may also go after the following suggestions:
1st Container: 3 scoops daily – 2 in the morning and 1 at night.
2nd Container: 2 scoops daily – 2 in the morning.
